The season is done and its colder than hell
 I'm bored outta my mind with no stories to tell

 I don't want to go out cause the wind sure is blowin'
 I just heard a plow so it's probably snowin'

 I can't get to sleep I've been doing some reading
 About hunts from guys who've been succeeding

 These guys always get a big dandy buck
 They all claim to work hard that they make their own luck

 Well I hunt hard also, but I still haven't seen
 A buck like the ones in the past magazine

 What do they do different from the things that I do
 Is it just me, have you felt this way too?

 It just has to be,… the places I'm huntin'
 There's no big buck around to hear when I'm gruntin'

 And if he ain't there, he ain't comin' in
 I won't be in pictures with an 'I GOT him' grin

 These guys say to hunt where nobody goes
 It's what I paid to hear at those deer huntin' shows

 So I went to a place the best week of the season
 And I didn't see shit. But I might know the reason

 I think maybe I went just a bit too far back
 I may have gone past the last deer track

 I think there's a limit to where deer will go
 Because I have gone past it. I've been there, I Know!

 The more that I ponder, the more it makes sense
 I've been trying too hard. I've been too intense

 If I've driven for miles and seen not a track or a car
 I'm gonna turn back, 'cause I've gone too far!
