Checking gear for what goes
and what stuff stays.

Bullets and clips
are in my pack.
Lighter and compass
In the pocket on the back.

Knife and rope
because with some luck,
I’ll need them
If I kill a buck.

But I chuckle to myself
because I never now lack.
My assortment of meds,
for the pain in my back.
